Although most of my work is done with dogs, cat owners often need assistance with behavior training for their feline friends. The programs and behavior modification techniques I use in training dogs are applicable to cats as well. Modifying behavior and training new responses utilizes similar background knowledge and technique. However, an understanding of feline motivation and behavior is the key to providing solutions to their behavioral issues.
When working with Dr. David Tuber, we assisted cat owners as well. I have designed many programs for cats and even taught a cat "obedience" course for several owners. Cats can learn commands as well. However, they have a different "mindset" than dogs do. Cats really like to please themselves. I keep in mind as I am working with them: "Dogs have owners, but cats have staff."
The most common issues with cats are litterbox issues and getting along with other animals in the household. I would be happy to assist you in solving problem behaviors with your cat or kitten.
